WSD-50 Water Soluble Masking Dots are designed to mask through hole areas of the circuit board during the solder operation and later wash away in
the water cleaning cycle. WSD-50 Water Soluble Masking Dots is static-free. It eliminates any drying time, and it completely washes away in an aqueous cleaning system. WSD-50 Water Soluble Masking Dots are also
biodegradable.
The circuit board surface should be free from grease, oil and metal salts.
Once the polyester film liner is removed from the dots, WSD-50 can be positioned over the through hole on the circuit board. Eliminate any air bubbles under the dots. This condition could lead to seepage of solder through the dot area. Each roll of WSD-50 Water Soluble Masking Dots should be returned to their re-sealable plastic bag after each use to reduce the absorption of moisture in the air.

WSD-50 Water Soluble Masking Dots are removed during the water wash cycle. The most efficient removal is dependent on the water
temperature and the water agitation. A minimum water temperature of 140F (60C) is necessary to remove the dots. The water agitation is dependent on the type of jet used as well as the
water pressure. The jet should be as close to the circuit board and with the highest water pressure as possible during the cleaning cycle. A minimum of 2 minutes of exposure to 140F (60C) water is required.

WSD-50 Water Soluble Masking Dots can be stored up to 6 months from date of manufacturing. Each container is stamped to show the
batch number, date of manufacturing and expiration date.
WSD-50 Water Soluble Masking Dots should be stored at room temperature (72F, 22C) in an unopened container. Each roll of WSD-50 Dots
should be returned to the re-sealable plastic container after each use to reduce the absorption of moisture in the air.
